BiPAP Device User Guide

Device Introduction

The BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) device is an advanced respiratory machine that delivers two different pressure levels during inhalation and exhalation. It helps patients with respiratory disorders such as sleep apnea, COPD, chronic respiratory failure, and other lung diseases. Unlike CPAP, BiPAP provides higher pressure during inhalation and reduces pressure during exhalation, making it easier and more comfortable to breathe out.

Device Components

  • Main BiPAP unit
  • Air tubing
  • Mask (nasal or full-face)
  • Humidifier (optional)
  • Air filter
  • Power cord and adapter

How to Use

  1. Place the device on a flat surface near the patient’s bed.
  2. Select the appropriate mask and connect it to the device using the tubing.
  3. Place the mask on the patient’s face and adjust the straps to ensure a secure, leak-free fit.
  4. Turn on the device and ensure the inhalation pressure (IPAP) and exhalation pressure (EPAP) settings are pre-adjusted as prescribed by the doctor.
  5. Confirm that the patient is breathing comfortably with no air leaks.

Safety Tips and Precautions

  • Check the device daily for proper operation.
  • Clean or replace the air filter weekly.
  • Use masks that fit the face properly to prevent air leakage.
  • If the patient experiences discomfort or breathing difficulties, stop using the device and consult a doctor.
  • Regularly clean the mask, tubing, and device with an appropriate disinfectant solution.
  • Never move the device while it contains water.
